From day one, our story has always been about delivering results. Today we're proud to be a leading authority in advanced manufacturing and engineering recruitment.
Consilium Group was formed in 2001, armed with a business plan and bank loan underwritten by the DTI, Consilium Group was launched by 3 former manufacturing professionals.
Where it all began - Stourport! Main focus was supporting the rapidly expanding automotive manufacturing sector which resulted in the following breakthroughs:
Following expansion of the team we opened a second office in Blackminster, Worcestershire.
We started our recruitment partnership with the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), supporting their exponential growth from a start-up team in a Portakabin to over 700 members of staff.
We celebrated our 10 year anniversary including a trip to Simpson's Restaurant in Birmingham. See how many fresh faces you might recognise!
The business was still growing too, so we relocated both offices to larger premises (Alcester & Stourport).
The Electric Vehicle revolution is underway and Consilium is one of the first professional Recruiters to establish a team dedicated to Hybrid and Electric Vehicle Technology. This has now developed beyond just the automotive sector and established Consilium Recruit as the undisputed leader in UK Battery Technology recruitment.
We launched the first annual Consilium Salary Guide. Now one of the most anticipated sources of remuneration and benefits data for our core sectors (Automotive, Aerospace and Manufacturing).
Having been shortlisted 5 years in succession, we finally won recognition as The Best UK Recruitment Company to work for by the Institute of Recruitment Professionals. The award was present by celebrity host Rev. Richard Coles.
We relocated our Alcester team to our new (current) Head Office in Stratford upon Avon due to accommodate expansion.
The office was opened by Matt Neal, British Touring Car Champion.
We also changed our trading name to Consilium Recruit that year and new branding was introduced.
Steve Doyle (Consilium Director & committed Engineer) took on the role of STEM Ambassador. To date he has partnered with 15 schools and run interactive workshops with over 1200 school children. In recognition of this, he was short-listed at the National STEM Awards.
In 2016 we celebrated 15 years in business. Even better, we were also ranked 9th best small company to work for by the prestigious Great Places to Work Institute.
Launch of Innovation division to formally recognise the high proportion of hi-technology and R&D led organisations served by Consilium.
This is now our fastest growing sector and has resulted in us working on a number of projects ranging from America's Cup racing yachts to flying cars, and across an extensive spread of new and emerging technologies.
Our Annual Review took place in October and we announced an annual Profit Share Scheme so that all employees benefit equally.
We also announced a number of other initiatives within the business, including greater flexible working, a mental health policy along with a big Summer Social event (we look forward to Silverstone next year).
Battery Technology division takes off
Consilium is named as official recruitment partner to both Electroflight, the UK’s first aerospace battery design consultancy, and Sprint Power, supplier to the forthcoming T50 hypercar project and confirms our status as the UK’s leading authority on battery technology recruitment.
Great Places to Work Awards
Despite the absence of an awards ceremony this year owing to Covid 19, Consilium still celebrated its success at being voted one of the UK’s best places to work.
Ranked number 19 out of several hundred applications in the small business category (20-49 employees), Consilium was praised particularly for its approach to work, training and personal development, plus level of rewards and recognition for all staff.
Celebrating 20 years of serving world class manufacturing and engineering organisations.
During our first two decades, Consilium has successfully completed over 9,000 placements with over 700 clients across 9 separate countries including India, China and Japan.
As the world begins its recovery from Covid, we look forward to an era of renewed growth and opportunity for all.
Great Place to Work and Rebranding
Delighted to be recognised again by the prestigious Great Place to Work Institute as one of the best small workplaces in the UK to work.
We also took the opportunity to rebrand with a simpler and bolder new company logo.
Membership of the Armed Forces Covenant
The AFC is not a charity, but an organisation that relies on the people, communities and businesses like Consilium Recruit to support those who serve or have served the nation.
As a key supplier to the UK Defence sector, we recognise the value that serving personnel, veterans and military families bring to our country and the workplace.
2024
